Kundalini
The Kundalini is a powerful energy stored at the base of your spine. The knowledge of Chakras can be very helpful for you to understand the principles of kundalini. Kundalini as always been represented by a snake, tightly twirled in your base chakra, at the base of your spine. It sleeps there until it is awakened. The goal is to get the snake energy climb from your base chakra, up your spine, up to your crown chakra, at the top of your head. This elevation of the energy will bring you spiritual enlightenment as well as a lot of personal power.
In your spinal column, there are energy doors that are closed, since they are not used. At first, the kundalini does not climb up your spine, but rather emits vapors of hot fiery energy. Even after a great while of practice, your kundalini will not go up, but it will push upwards so that the doors in your spine will open to let the energy go up. This is why we do the dance of awakening, so that your kundalini energy starts to vibrate stronger. Your kundalini will actually go up your spine only after many years of spiritual training, but the vapors emanating from it will have an immediate effect.

The dance
The dance of awakening consists in moving your body wildly, shaking your spine like a rattlesnake, turning and twisting it in every way, as fast as possible without hurting yourself. You must start slowly and experiments with light twists and light shaking from left to right, until you grasp the feeling, and understand your physical limits. You will be doing this for a while, so dont use up all your energy in the first minutes. Jogging still is a good way to heat yourself up, and it is also recommend to keep your legs moving all the way thru the practice.
This dance requires rhythmic music so that you can shake your body wildly. You will need at least 10 minutes of consecutive music at first, going up to an hour. The music must not be chaotic, but is should not be too melodic. It should be repetitive and constant, like African drum rhythms or techno music for the amateur. Do not pick hard trance music of heavy metal. We seek to produce a spiritual experience in your physical body.
We are seeking to set your mind in a trans while your body is moving in quick shaking bursts and spine twisting. When you twist your spine, dont give a hard push on it. The goal is to make the vertebrae rotate, not to dislocate. Bend, squat down, jump and shake again, shaking your hands in the air quickly, your left leg, then your right, and back again with the spine shaking. Your eyes half closed, but a bit opened so you dont hurt yourself, looking upwards inside your head from time to time.

As you are dancing and getting the feeling of balance while unbalancing yourself in the wild movements, start visualizing your dragon spirit (see dragon spirit practice). Let it come from above you and take the same place as your physical body. See its body place itself at your spine, two wings going out of your back, head at the place of your head, you are dancing with your dragon spirit.
After 10 minutes to an hour of dancing, slow down progressively over 3 minutes, taking as much time as possible to slow your hearth rhythm down. Then sit in meditation. Regular members should do the dragon spirit meditation.
